Every voyage includes naturalists, marine biologists, and National Geographic-certified photographers - experts you interact with daily, not just onboard entertainers.
Lindblad and National Geographic have partnered since 2004 to create science-driven expedition voyages. The fleet sails under the National Geographic name and carries researchers, photographers, and explorers from the Society on every departure. Guests gain exclusive access to experts and photography instruction not available on any other cruise line.
Pricing varies significantly by destination and ship. Antarctic voyages typically start around $10,000 per person, while Alaska and Galapagos itineraries range from $5,000 to $15,000+. Most itineraries are designed for active travelers in reasonable health, not extreme athletes. Shore excursions typically involve walking on uneven terrain, kayaking, or zodiac landings. Guests choose their activity level each day - there is no obligation to participate in every excursion. I like to tell clients that if they are comfortable getting into and out of a zodiac, then they have the mobility to take an expedition cruise.
Most fares include all meals, guided shore excursions, zodiac landings, use of kayaks and snorkeling gear, evening recaps with naturalists, and complimentary Starlink Wi-Fi. Airfare, gratuities, and alcoholic beverages are typically additional.
