What’s the real difference between an expedition cruise and a traditional luxury cruise, and which one is right for me?

The most common mistake I see luxury travelers make? Asking “which cruise line is the best?” That is the wrong question entirely.

Not all cruises are the same, and “luxury” can mean different things. Here’s how to tell them apart and find the one that’s right for you.

I just returned from 8 nights across three of the best luxury resorts in French Polynesia, and every single day exceeded my expectations.

I’ll start with my favorite property, The Shore Club at Turks and Caicos. I absolutely adore this resort. Its sister property, The Palms, is also wonderful.

During my short but sweet visit to Ireland, I was expecting to be surrounded by the beautiful countryside, castles and manors that leave one speechless…and lots of Guinness.

Can you see one of the luxury Chilé resorts, Tierra Patagonia Hotel in the image? It takes a second or two to see it. The hotel intentionally blends into the landscape. Pretty incredible!!

Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge is simply magnificent. I had an extraordinary time there a few weeks ago, and it is really hard to explain how wonderful the lodge, its owners and crew truly are.

Sea Cloud Sailing Cruises is a fabulous luxury cruise line. I’m finding that many people are not aware of this company and that needs to change.

Though Lindblad Expedition Cruises offers intrepid travelers access to the world’s most remote destinations around the world, they have incredible itineraries right here in North America.
